At Bambooya, we’re all about unique, natural bamboo products for your body, baby, home, and earth-friendly lifestyle, and we are motivated by the goodwill of people and causes that strive to make the world a better place—one person, one idea, one act at a time.
Journey with us to discover the wonders of bamboo, one of the oldest renewable and sustainable natural resources! Bamboo has been used as a staple in every day life for three thousand years in China, India, Japan, and Southeast Asia, as well as Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean (and many other countries).
There are approximately 1,500 species of bamboo with a purported 1,001 uses—from ancient, traditional items such as tools, baskets, chopsticks, charcoal, beer, herbal medicine, paper, and building materials, to awesome contemporary uses in bamboo clothes and yarn, body care products, flooring, skateboards, bicycles, biodegradable dishes, and modern utensils, to name but a few.
In the United States, we have only just begun to put bamboo to good use, and in our Bambooya! Blog we’re excited to highlight the latest innovative bamboo eco-products, design, nurseries, gardens, and DIY projects. We’ll also bring you information about bamboo organizations, habitat, and its’ traditional uses, and we’ll share with you stories and Q & A interviews with bamboo lovers, artists, advocates, and entrepreneurs, including inspiring socially-conscious and eco-friendly causes. We believe a little “bamboo goodwill” goes a long way!
